Michele Young Wins Democratic Nomination

Michele Young won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Congress in Ohio's 1st District.

Young, an attorney, civic leader and author, would be the first woman and mother to serve the district.

She was endorsed by both the Hamilton County Democratic Party and the Cincinnati Women's Political Caucus.

She, Fred Kundrata, and Jim Berns were the three candidates in the race. She took 68% of the vote and placed first in all 505 voting precincts.

Young said, "I am very grateful and humbled by the trust placed in me by the voters of our district. In one month, we showed that we could run a positive campaign friend to friend across our community and win a clean sweep of every precinct in OH-1."

Her competitor in November will be Republican Steve Chabot.
